Condyloma acuminata is the medical term for genital warts associated with certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV). They may appear on the penis, around the genital area or around the anus. Appearance varies, and photographs alone cannot confirm a diagnosis. A doctor examines the lesions; an unusual or uncertain lesion may need further assessment before removal. Internal anal lesions may require a separate examination or referral.
The doctor checks which lesions need treatment, explains the options and agrees the cost before the procedure. Mention medicines, allergies and relevant medical conditions during the consultation.
When suitable, the area is numbed and the visible lesions are treated using a laser. The extent of treatment varies; the appointment and recovery time are individual.
You receive instructions for the treated area and advice on when to return. New or recurrent lesions can be reassessed and treated if necessary.
Laser is one available option alongside cryotherapy, prescription topical treatments and other removal methods. There is no single best treatment for every person. Choice depends on the lesions and your preferences after examination. Do not use ordinary pharmacy wart removers or acids on genital skin. Products such as TCA are clinician-applied treatments, not home remedies.
Prices in Israeli shekels. The first treatment is priced by the number of warts; the doctor confirms the findings and plan before treatment.
| Treatment | ILS / ₪ |
|---|---|
| One wart | 800 ₪ |
| Two warts | 1,000 ₪ |
| 3–5 warts — first treatment | 1,500 ₪ |
| 6–10 warts — first treatment | 2,500 ₪ |
| More than 10 warts — first treatment | 3,500 ₪ |
| Each additional treatment within one year of the first treatment | 800 ₪ |
Each additional treatment within one year of the first treatment costs ₪800, regardless of the number of recurrent warts. An additional treatment outside that period requires a current quote. If another type of assessment or treatment is needed, the next step and cost are discussed beforehand.

Temporary tenderness, irritation and a superficial wound may follow removal. Healing depends on the treatment area and extent. Follow your personal aftercare instructions and avoid friction and sexual contact until the area has healed and the doctor advises it is appropriate. Scarring or a change in skin colour can occur. Contact the clinic if healing is not progressing as expected.
Visible wart removal and HPV clearance are different things. Warts can return after treatment, and transmission may still be possible without visible lesions. Condoms reduce exposure but do not cover all surrounding skin. HPV vaccination helps prevent new infections with covered types; it does not treat existing warts. The appearance of warts does not establish when or from whom HPV was acquired.
